My Story

In July 2024 I will be undertaking one of the biggest challenges I have ever put my hand to!

I will be tackling the Yorkshire Three Peaks for our sector charity and colleagues - The Electrical Industries Charity.

The Electrical Industries Charity (EIC) has been in existence for over 100 years, and we support anyone who works in the Electrical or Energy industry and we are so thankful to be in a position to extend this support to the immediate family of our industry members.

We have all felt the pinch of the increased cost of living and continuously changing circumstances. We often speak about the impact of uncertainty and what it does to us as individuals, not just physically but mentally. We begin to feel uncomfortable, out of control, isolated. It can very quickly transition from feeling like you’re treading water to feeling like you’re drowning. As an industry, we aren’t great at reaching out when things are tough.

We pride ourselves in being an organisation that can offer free and confidential support to our industry when things get tough. We work to consider every factor and work with our industry members to generate the best possible outcome. We are incredibly proud to say that we delivered back into our industry over £1.39m, through our support services. On average the EIC sees up to 30 new cases a week, sometimes more. In light of the financial climate, the vast majority encompass money concerns in some capacity. Mental health sessions continue to be the most utilised provision among service users, industry wide.

But without your help, our service could not exist. Providing this assistance would not be possible. Your support, whether verbal, written or financial is invaluable to the EIC and from the bottom of our hearts, we would like to thank you.

We believe that early detection and early intervention is the key to effectively supporting our industry. This is sparked by education and understanding of the issues that may be faced by individuals.

The EIC are passionate about helping people in our industry and know that you are too. We rely solely on fundraising and that’s why we need to Stand Together to support ourselves and our colleagues. We invite you to join us in actively challenging the stigma that surrounds asking for help and encourage those in need to reach out to us. Together, we can make a difference.

I will be taking on this challenging altitude climb to raise much needed funds for those the Electrical Industries Charity support

If you can, please donate to my Yorkshire Three Peaks trek, any amount helps and support my journey to support the EIC and the incredible work they do.
